Sharon Bwanya

Sharon Bwanya (nee Maposa) is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Nurture Invest. She is former partner at MawereSibanda Commercial lawyers. She graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with an LLBS (Hons) in 2007 and joined the firm fresh out of law school. She also holds an LLM in the relatively new field of Information Communications and Technology Law with the University of South Africa and a diploma in Human Rights from Bard College, New York.

 

Outside her professional life, Sharon is a mother of one, wife to telecommunications engineer, Tawanda Bwanya and a citizen activist.  She has, while working as a busy corporate lawyer, participated in a TV Reality Series called Imagine Afrika where she visited different African countries implementing programs aimed at eradicating the HIV/AIDS pandemic; and more recently, she played a pivotal role for the Dollar-for-Ebola campaign which encouraged individual and corporate citizens to team up to keep Ebola outside Zimbabwe’s borders. She also is passionate about young students and has been involved in many initiatives aimed at empowering children in Zimbabwe.
