Tendai Sauro is a 14-year-old learner and the fourth-born in a family of six children, with one sister married and two brothers living at home. Both parents are alive but divorced, and she stays with her mother. Her mother survives through vending at Chivi Growth Point but is unable to afford fees at the local school there. As a result, Tendai travels approximately 10 km one way to Tambudzai School. She is academically capable and has strong potential to perform well if given adequate support.
